Pauline Books & Media Wins Three Awards from the Catholic Press Association

BOSTON, MA — FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Pauline Books & Media, the publishing house of the Daughters of St.Paul, is honored to announce three award-winning book titles recognized for excellence from the Catholic Press Association at the Catholic Media Conference in Buffalo, NY.

The judges recognized two children’s titles and one adult title at the conference, with one title receiving a first place award and two receiving second place.

First place in the Children’s Books and Books for Teens Category is Discovery at Dawn, by Maria Grace Dateno, FSP, the sixth and final book in the Gospel Time Trekkers Series. The judges praised the book in its appeal to its target audience and said, “Especially enjoyable was the last chapter and the references to the Bible readers could use to delve deeper and continue their discovery of the life of Christ.” The first book in this series, Shepherds to the Rescue, was the first place winner in last year’s Catholic Press Association awards. Sr. Maria Grace Dateno is a prolific writer of many award-winning children’s titles.

The Story of John Paul II: A Boy Who Became Pope, by Fabiola Garza, received second place in the Children’s Books and Books for Teens Category. The judges praised this children’s biography saying the book “could serve as a source of inspiration to young people who may decide to enter into a religious order. The artwork was beautiful and the story was captivating.” This book is the author’s debut title and has been translated into several languages.

The Prodigal You Love: Inviting Loved Ones Back to the Church by Theresa Aletheia Noble, FSP, with a foreword by Father Dave Dwyer, CSP, received second place in the category of First Time Author of a Book. The judges called this title “wise and thought-provoking.” The story of a former atheist turned professed religious is now in its second printing.

All three Pauline Books & Media award-winning titles were also recipients of the Association of Catholic Publishers Awards in May of this year.
