10th General Chapter of the Daughters of St. Paul

10th General Chapter of the Daughters of St. Paul

The 10th General Chapter of the Daughters of St. Paul opens on Thursday, 15 August at Ariccia (Rome), Italy. Sixty-eight FSPs from all the continents of the world are participating in the event, which is centered on the theme: “We believe and so we speak.” With bold and prophetic faith we offer everyone “the charity of the Truth.”

The theme, which harmonizes well with the Year of Faith and commitment to the new evangelization, expresses the heart of the apostolic identity of the Daughters of St. Paul, who are called to live and communicate Jesus Christ, Way, Truth and Life (Jn. 14:6) by witnessing to and proclaiming “the power and beauty of the faith” (Benedict XVI, Apostolic Letter Porta Fidei) in the culture of communication and–in a special way today–through decisive commitment to online communications.

Follow the Chapter, day by day

Founded in 1915 by Blessed James Alberione, a true apostle of social communications, with the collaboration of Venerable Sr. Thecla Merlo, whose beatification process is underway, the Daughters of St. Paul are currently preparing to celebrate the first centenary of the Pauline Family and their Congregation’s birth.

Present in 52 countries, with a total membership of 2309 sisters and 235 young women in formation, the FSPs carry out their mission through multimedia productions, printed and online magazines, book stores and other centers of diffusion, web sites, radio and TV programs (including online), critical formation to the use of the media and guided courses on the Bible and communications.

Their constant and essential point of reference is St. Paul, the Apostle of the Gentiles, from whom the Paulines draw their spirit, reliving it today. They are aware of their urgent need to rediscover the apostolic mysticism lived by Paul and interpreted by their Founder, as well as the unifying power of their spirituality and the prophetic dimension of their mission.
